A trip to the dentist

While we had been up in Utah we made a trip to the dentist. Maddy proudly came away with zero cavities and wouldn't live that down to any of us. Recently we read a book about teeth and all the disgusting things in them and since then as any of us talk she will look at our teeth and then make comments like..."Why does everyone in our family have plaque but ME?"

When JY came away from the dentist he had FOUR cavities! We finally got them all fixed up and he was very concerned about his mouth not ever waking back up again. It was quite funny to just sit and talk to him. He did a great job at the dentist and even wants to go back! I couldn't help but getting a little video of his mouth before it woke up, as he would say. Enjoy!

JY's Imagination

I love this age when make believe seems to come from anywhere. The other day my two boys were playing so nicely...this would mean no screams out of Gibson...together. I came downstairs and they had scooted every possible climbing chair or stool into the hallway and were docking their pirate boat. They played on this long ship forever and were completely entertained. They even made a lower deck beneath the chairs for the castaways. Oh sad when dinner time came and we needed the chairs.

JY has been really into Halloween lately. He loves to listen to the music and asked me to turn on our halloween songs so that he could show them to GIb. We have a copy of the Halloween song from the nightmare Before Christmas that they play in the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland during Halloween time. I had been getting ready in my bathroom and in JY wheels Gibson from down our hall with the music blaring, the office chair swinging back and forth, and JY making spooky sounds. When asked what was going on he replies...Oh I am giving Gib a ride on the haunted mansion. ha ha!

The Many Talents of Gib

I can't post about two and leave little Gibson out. Only with this child it seems like every day is an event! Some of my favorites lately include his grumpy faces, saying his own prayers...so cute and priceless. I wish I could keep him with this cute little voice forever . Another favorite is his tricky arm fold during dinner prayers. He folds his arms and then continues to snitch pieces of food off his plate with one arm, while continuing to hold the position, all the while his little eyes are squinted shut. I will have to capture that one. He also loves to entertain the kids with a new dinner time trick of sliding down his high chair like it was a waterfall. It is pretty funny. The clip doesn't do it justice...but enjoy!

Way to go Maddy

You can't really tell here...but sporting her new two toothless smile.

Award day for Madelyn!

She wanted her hair cut exactly like her doll.

Maddy's school had thier first award assembly of the year and I got a note from her teacher that she was going to be recognized. It was a secret and I wasn't suppose to let her know. Since we haven't been in school that long (since Aug 1) I thought for sure that she was going to be getting the quietest student award. She is pretty quiet. We went last Friday and she was recognized for being an outstanding reader in the first grade. She loves to read books and does very well. She was so proud of herself and we are too. Way to go Mads.

Just as proud that day...she lost her second tooth at school and got to bring it home in a tiny treasure box. Of course we have since lost that tiny treasure box containing her tooth twice now, but found it and placed it under the pillow. Let's hope the tooth fairy arrives soon...

JY's First Day

Since Mads has started school, JY, of course has been counting down the days until he returns. He couldn't wait to take a back pack, a lunch and see his teacher. He was so cute. He layed out his clothes the night before and carefully picked the ones he thought were "cool" to wear. He has Maddy's old teachers and they were so excited to see him. They called out to him and greeted him with a big hug, which made him feel so special. I love them! When I went to pick him up that day he was all smiles. His only complaint...I came back to get him too soon. He wondered why his day was so short and why I had to come back so soon. I guess my mommy time isn't becoming quite as cool as it used to be. I better be out my competition.
