JY sneaks some pictures

Great shot huh!
He likes to look at them and he must have realized he missed the face on the first try.
His Buzz lightyear slippers he was wearing!
His Zurg figure he posed. In the first shot he was laying down.
This is Buzz posed also. Bad lighting...he must take after me.

Sorry for all the posts. I just thought this one was funny and had to add it for my own memories before it fades...which would be come morning. I asked him to clean out his back pack today from the outing yesterday. I had kept the camera in there and I heard him ask me where it belongs and I had told him to put it in the office. Well, tonight as I am uploading pics I find these great findings of his on it...I just couldn't pass up the opportunity of sharing some of his great treasured pics.

The Hollywood Bowl

Making crafts of the featured country...Zimbabwe
Matthew, JY, and Brandon displaying thier mean masks. Brandon gathered all the little boys to take them over and scare his sister...what a little brother thing to do! I love it.
Maddy's girly warrior mask...wouldn't you know it.

For the past couple of years we have gotten together with a group of moms and kids and gone to the Hollywood Bowl. (thanks to Suzanne's many organinzing efforts) It is a little show put on down in Hollywood where they feature a country each week. The kids watch as Captain Dave and others arrive in his little ship and sail them to a new country. Then they perform music from that country and the kids dance along. They also feature a craft that goes along with the culture the kids get to make. It was alot of fun. It was also great because we were a little further from that earthquake, which I didn't feel but might have had we stayed home. If you know me you know how panicked I would have been with that!!

Sick Dayz

JY standing as tall as he can to poke out the top.

This is JY's room. He is sitting on a covered laundry basket which he made into his bed.

Maddy's room. She wanted a "secret" doll bed. Her doll is inside the little pocket. Worked well until Gib woke up and found out her secret...then tears! All he cared about was touching the Thomas cars...recipe for disaster!!

So what do you do after having a child sick for an entire week straight. After coming to the realization that you can't go anywhere in public for fear of spreading it...sit back and come up with things to keep all THREE children entertained at home all by myself. What a feat!! I remembered back to my childhood summer days of fort building. After many hours of kids following me around the house and crying at my feet I decided it might keep them entertained for a least an hour while I got some much needed things done. You see, when Mads is sick all she wants me to do is hold her. There is this guilty mommy voice inside of me that I always give into thinking...before long she won't want you to hold her and she may not even want you around. That little voice usually gets the best of me, but by day 3 my sympathy was getting littler and littler. I decided to put my fort efforts to the test and this is what we got....

Oh What Do You Do In The Summertime...

Oh what do you do in the Summertime...visit FAMILY! Each summer we pack up and head our little family to Utah for some family time. Each time we go they have endless hours of fun seeing grandmas, grandpas, uncles, aunts, cousins, pets, and pretty much you name it we see it. It is alot of great memories and fun! Every time it is time to come home I get a little teary all over again...you would think after five years of California time and nine years of marriage this would quit happening but... it doesn't. I think back on the memories of it all and know that it is because of the incredibly great family that I have. I feel so fortunate to have all these great people in my life and to have such neat people to call MY FAMILY! I am so glad that we have an eternity to create such good memories together! What a blessing~
Nothing like Summer time for night games and ice cream. The kids learned how to play kick the can.

Happy Birthday to Maddy. She is officially six years old!
The ONLY present she REALLY REALLY wanted.
This little slide could be worth millions. Gib and Hannah were entertained for 3 WEEKS straight!
Gib was mezmerized by Grandpa's cows...Thanks Becca for the cute boots.
All the guys take a ride on Grandpa's tractor.

Going fishing in Grandma's pool.

Endless hours of slip and slide with gigantic bowling pins to knock over...too fun!
Of course....Fourth of July festivities.

Maddy lost her first tooth! It has been loose since about September...in her little mind. It was a hit. Her and Brinley planned out how they would tell everyone around them and squealed about it the whole car ride. Too funny. She saved it to show her dad. Then later when JY's bruised nail fell off...he saved it to show dad.
Laser tag...they got beat pretty bad by some rough housin teenagers who played against them.
Nothing like good cousin time playing in the water in the canyon.
Boy Bonding!! It was fun to see the times these 3 did actually notice each other...and how much of that was Gib NOT screaming??
Taking a train ride to SLC...and about missing it coming back...ha ha! Now we can laugh right guys??
Playing in the water fountains.

Gib's favorite seat in the house. Refused to get in the water but loved to sit on wet Mads.
Dressing the same!!
Cook outs in the canyon. MMMMM...roasting hot dogs.
YEAH!!! Celebrating JY's birthday. He wanted a sailboat party and to sail them down a stream. So much FUn!

Getting a vacation from the vacation. Here is Maddy and Grandpa Ferry riding the alpine slides in Park City.
Here come the straglers.
Lemonade stand the kids colored, made cookies for and sold. It was so fun. Might I add they even went running door to door up and down the street selling thier wares...and they made a whopping $12!

Camp outs...Here is Grandma telling ghost stories. Maddy woke Aunt Becca up at 5 to sleep in the trailer with mom.
Miles wearing his gloves. He would not take them off. So cute.
Maddy learning from Grandma Smith how to build a teepee fire. Joel then helped her learn to start the matches...hopefully a good thing. ha ha!
