Endless pics

Cute Max in his designer glasses.
The kids making thier glasses.
The beautiful view...though it doesn't get it pretty enough.
Curtis and Cam in happier days...i believe before the upset stomach was found on the grass.
Dad building sand holes with the boys.

Gunns are the BEST!

Poor Dad who had to carry Gib on the hike. There was some signs warning of rattlesnakes and moutain lion sightings that had the kids...and a few of the adults a little worried about hiking. The girls loved decorating thier hair with the flowers....it got their mind of the wildlife lurking around them.

(above)
The kids in their "Faith" glasses. We hold church at a park because we arrived to go to church an hour early and found out it was stake conference...too funny

Hooray for the Gunns... there is nothing more great than being with cousins, when you throw the Gunns into it all... it couldn't be better. We had so much fun joining them at the beach house this weekend. It is always so much fun to see the cousins just pick back up and have a fun together without realizing how long it has been since they last saw each other. We are so lucky to have such great family.

We had so much fun playing in the sand, talking walks on the beach, the AMAZING sights, seeing all the ocean life that washes ashore, and especially the TALENT show. I always knew we had some talented family members...but I never knew to what extent. I think I might sign you all up for American Idol or Dancing with the Stars tryouts next time they roll around. I loved Aunt Chris's version of the school song. You are ALL wonderful!

Thanks so much for the great memories created...especially poor Curtis who found JY's upset stomach on the grass!! ;( My kids are already asking when the next time they get to see the Gunns is? (Hopefully soon!) Thank you, thank you!

Hooray for the Guns continues...

Gibson loving the sand.
JY...who is finally not afraid of washing out to sea...he saw it happen to a crab on the little einstien cartoon.
Maddy...always our little fish
My handsome hubby enjoying the view
JY was constantly afraid that Gib would wash out to sea if he got to close. He pushed him back to safe land.

Hooray for the GUNNS!...hooray for the beach!

Building sandcastles.
Showing Maddy how the waves work.
A baby seal that washed right up on the beach next to us.
Kids amazed at the baby seal...or maybe the adults were more amazed.
Loving the view.

Brothers

Playing computers together...must be in the genes they look hooked!

JY trying not to bug Gib, but this usually ends up in a YELL.

JY and Gib sharing a crib in a motel room we stayed at...until Gib had enough that is. Usually he wins the arguments.

I couldn't resist posting a blog for the boys too. They are starting to play so cute together. Okay...so usually they are starting to play so cute together. Gib still has a problem with yelling the moment JY enters the room, but then there are those sweet moments when they REALLY get along and Gib wants to be just like him. They are priceless. The other day JY wanted to play computer. When Gib woke up he ran right in to sit next to him and watch "YY" as he calls him. I walked in and Gib was glued to every move JY made, singing songs along with him and everything. I noticed JY had moved his little arm around Gib or was just resting it in his little lap. CUTE!

All Grown Up!!

My little Maddy....

First day of school...she looks so little.

All grown up!
Celebrating her birthday at school.

Last day of school at the park.

I can't believe how fast time goes. My little Madelyn has officially finished Kindergarten. She had the most wonderful teacher who was just perfect for her and her personality. She has learned so much! I can't believe how much they learn...I never remember learning how to tell time, count money, add, subtract, write stories, and read all in kindergarten! Of course, maybe I just didn't...but I sure don't remember it. Her last day was a little hard for her. She kept telling us all week that SHE was not excited for school to get out. Then on Wednesday when her teacher told them it was her last chance to walk down the hall together she got a little teary. They really started falling after she gave her teacher a big hug. It is sad to think that part of her little life is over...but she has really done well.

Maddy is the sweetest little girl. She is always looking out for her little brothers and is such a mom. She loves to be the care taker of anyone who will let her...which is why she is constantly in charge of everything that goes on in our home.

She is so patient and smart. She constantly reminds me of when I am breaking the rules of our house and always wants to be my little helper. I still remember waking up at 2 in the morning with my water broke and heading to the hospital. Time goes by so fast it makes me just want to hug her and not let go. She is such a girly girl and my little princess...although she reminded me the other day that she has "About" grown out of princesses. When does that happen? We love our little maddy so much and feel so grateful to have her little spirit in our family.

Bubble pics

I have been in the process of doing a kids bathroom. I couldn't find any great pics for the walls. Mads is in the process of painting me some kid pics for the walls on a canvas...seeing as she has more artistic talent than her mom. The other day i thought...it would be cute to do some black and white pics of the kids with bubbles...here is what i got so far

Money Well Spent

So my kids have REALLY missed not having a pool to go swimming to any old time they want to. We have tried and tried to convince dad to dig those trenches alont the sides of the house just a little deeper for some swim time...but nothing works!! So Mads and I took matters into our own hands. We found the greatest pool ever and decided to put it to the test this weekend. I promised the kids that after a few jobs were done they could play in it. My house has never been so clean without a whine from my children. It worked MAGIC!! They stayed out from 10 until 3 playing pirates. Even old Gib was singing along the song as he played out there. They have the worst little sunburn lines to prove it and had to go around the rest of the weekend in thier underwear with Johnny and I rotating the aloe rubs on their little backs...but BOY was it FUN!!

Playing School

Did you ever play school when you were little? I remember countless hours of playing school with my sisters. I also remember being mad that I never got to be the teacher. I guess the oldest always assumes that role. Mads has taken it over in our house already. I walked in on them playing school the other day. I kept getting little notes under my door about how my child's name had been on the board or how I owed lunch money and he could no longer eat at school. Poor JY was done playing after a few minutes of realizing that he got to do nothing more than sit on the floor lined up with all the stuffed animals in the house. Mads tried to convince him otherwise, but it didn't work too long. I had to take a picture of some of his notes. He isn't too happy about being the "bad student". Can't say I would want to play anymore either.

Surfing

So JY has become Californian lately?? He is so into being a surfer. It is funny. The other day he was walking around the house in his swim goggles and suit. That is all he wanted to put on. He kept saying things like..."Hey mom, did you know that surfers say Dude and Gotta catch a wave?" Then he would climb up on the couch and countless times make me watch him be a surfer. I think we have seen a little to many Backyardigan surfing episodes lately or maybe it just happens when you have lived here long???? Cute little boy.
