So we have a bit of catch up to do...sorry about a bunch of posts...enjoy!!
We had a few crazy weeks right in here, but they were all worth the effort and then some.
Maddy started school again. She is officially in first grade. We really miss not having her around and the whole ALL day thing is still taking its toll on her, but she is excited that she does get THREE recesses. She had been assigned to a class where she was going to have a substitute for the entire first month and then off and on as her assigned teacher got sick. I usually try not to complain...BUT I battled this one! Maggie would be proud. I went into the office with my meanest face and I told them we were not going to stay in that class and by noon she was moved. I couldn't believe myself and my quick results. I may have to try and be pushy more often. haha!
She has got a great teacher and is doing well. The only thing she really cares about is wearing sparkles to school. Believe me this girl is sparkled up...pants, shirts, lunchbox, you name it. A tradition with my own mom was getting to have a one on one day where we went school shopping and got to pick it all out. Mads and I had our day and everything had to sparkle. She is a fun shopper...as long as it sparkled. Oh well, with all the boys I needed at least one good shopper sparkles or not.
After Mads got out of school the first day we zoomed up to Utah to see Ruzz and Whit's wedding! It was the greatest trip...those 13 hours didn't even compare! We were so glad that we got to be there even though it was short. As we sat surrounded by all the family in the temple and heard the sealer remind us of how important this day was for the rest of eternity...I thought about how glad I was that we were there to share it with them. Whit looked beautiful and we were able to spend a litle time with our family! We LOVED it! We loved seeing cousins, spending time at Joel and Becca's, and just being together! You would have thought all that time up there this summer would have done us in, but it is never long enough. That night we swung by Ang and Nate's to say "hi and bye" and they stocked us up on cereal for the next three years. Our food storage might be surviving off of Malt o Meal cereal, my kids will be thrilled!! we felt so happy to spend some time with everyone! It was a great SHORT trip!
